Swan Diary #12

A SURE SIGN OF WINTER

It was the last day of November and the past  two days the temperatures dropped dramatically, so when I got up the sun was shining and a bike ride to the pond was a must.I rode down and ignoring the winter chill made my way along the Bannockburn path to the Swans Pond.

The pond was frozen over and I could see a passer-by had thrown some bread onto the pond which was scattered along the surface, the seagulls were having difficulty landing on the icy surface.

A sure sign of Winter is the Robin

Most of the Ducks were gone from the pond, with only a few seagulls around, although there was a single Robin checking me out along the path.
